The Beijing International Horticultural Expo Is Undergoing A Half-load Stress Test with 30,000 Visitors for the First Time

On April 13, a half-load stress test of 30,000 people was carried out in the Beijing International Horticultural Expo Park. This is the first time that the Park welcomes ordinary visitors. It is of great significance to the operation of the Park. Organized visitors are used to carry out normal operation, to feel the actual state of having visitors, and to test the reception adaptability, smooth management process, organizational ability and equipment operation of the Park. Tim Briercliffe, secretary-general of the International Association of Horticultural Producers, also came to the Park to guide the survey and gave high praise to the preparation of the Expo.

In order to arouse and mobilize the sense of responsibility of the host of “Yanqing is our home, the Expo depends on everyone” in Yanqing District, and to provide comprehensive services to ensure the success of the Expo, the observation group of “Yanqing villagers” organized by Yanqing District, the host of Expo, is the main component of the stress test visitors. Nearly 30,000 visitors visited the Park in Beijing by bus, self-driving and walking.

The 78 entrance passages of No. 1, No. 2, No. 5 and No. 6 ticket gater at the drill site are all open to ensure the smooth entry of visitors. In order to meet the consumption demand of 30,000 people, such as shopping and dining, all the businesses in the Park that have already met the opening conditions have been put into trial operation. In addition, in order to fully meet the needs of the visitors to take the electric sightseeing car, 30 battery cars were put into operation on the day of the exercise to serve the visitors. A total of 555 volunteers from Century College of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications(Yanqing) and Yanqing District Youth League Committee were organized at the stress test site. They were divided into 18 business departments and 100 job sites according to their posts. They mainly provided visitors with eight types of services: inquiry service, order guidance, reception assistance, language translation, media service, work coordination of organizers, visiting assistance and activity organization assistance.

In order to find out the insufficiency of Park operation and management services from the perspective of visitors and promote the continuous improvement of operation and management service quality, some visitors participating in this stress test will fill in paper or electronic questionnaires to provide suggestions for improving and upgrading operation and management services.

At present, the opening of the Expo is imminent. The construction of the Park project has been completed in general. The construction of the China Pavilion, the International Pavilion, the Living Experience Pavilion, the Botanical Pavilion and the Yongning Pavilion has been completed. The Expo Park of “one centre, two axes, three belts andmulti areas” has been formed. The service guarantee work has been carried out in an all-round way, various work classes have been established and perfected, and the service support implementation programs, such as security, electricity, transportation, publicity and logistics have been formulated.  The 12 teams such as operation management, protocol reception, visitor service, security team, with nearly 4000 people are all in place;

the preliminary arrangement of activities have been determined, the Expo will hold five categories, such as key activities, daily activities, professional forums and international contests, the world’s ethnic and folk culture gathering activities, science and technology innovation activities, of more than 2500 activities, which are rich in content and diverse in form. Volunteers are ready for the opening ceremony and trial run of the Expo. Nearly 2000 volunteers from China Agricultural University, Beijing Forestry University, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Communication University of China, Beijing International Studies University and Beijing University of Agriculture have been successfully recruited, and are now receiving systematic trainings.
